About
Teal & Joyce delight and engage with original songs of life’s delights and dilemmas! Serious, sensitive and audaciously funny with a side of vaudeville thrown in for good measure (feather boa included) they leave audiences with a tune in their heads and a song in their hearts. For a change of pace they often throw in a few traditional folk songs flavoured with a variety of instruments. Dave accompanies on 6 and 12 string guitars, banjo and harmonica. Carol plays guitar, mandolin, and bass (and an occasional washboard!).
Teal & Joyce have three independent CDs of original music: “Has It All Been Said…”, produced and recorded in 2013 by Jason LaPrade, and “Some Things You Do for Love” and “Simple Pleasures”, both produced and recorded by Paul Mills with a stellar cast of musicians.
A little laughter, a little blues, served up with love and compassion for our human state. Carol & David’s performance has something for everyone in their audience.
“Carol Teal and David Joyce are not only excellent partners in life, they’re also partners in music. Carol writes engaging, interesting songs from very personal and serious themes, to the extremely funny, laugh-riot type. She can just as easily touch your heart as your funny-bone. David is a solid, soulful guitar player with a very strong sense of melody and harmony. His songs are always thoughtful and always tuneful, whether as an accompanist or as a featured performer. Together they shine. With a great rapport and warmth, always making musical magic. I highly recommend them.” – Wendell Ferguson
“David and Carol blended gentleness and humour into an evening of delightful original songs.” – Dean Verger, Rasputin’s Cafe
